The Best She Could
I heard you had the best Mom
And so this day we dedicate
But I write in recognition
Of those who weren't so great
Those who had to work
When we needed some attention
And when we reached a goal in school
Were to tired to make mention
Those who couldn't share
In all the things that we did
Perhaps a single Mother
Taking care of several kids
Working overtime
To supply us with a home
Clothing us and feeding us
Until the day we'd grown
Although not having time
To coddle us, it's true
But making sure that we stayed well
Each day attending school
No, Maybe not the best
Mom you could ever find
But all the things she did for me
I'm happy that's she's mine
