The Best of Her

Everyday that she keeps it locked up inside, Makes it that much harder for her to hide, The feelings that she feels for him are strong, She’s felt this way all along, She’s afraid of how he’ll react, His hand and her face seem to automaticaly attract, So she puts it aside, As the days go by, I begin to wonder "why?", She puts up with what she does, Both physicaly and mentaly strong it’s hard to knock her down, Even on her toughest days you won’t see her frown, She had let it go too long, And in the blink of an eye the teenage girl I used to know was gone, So loving and kind and full of life, Never seen a heart so open with love, Now it’s surrounded by a big concrete wall and barbwire, He won’t get the best of her again, That I will make sure of, If it’s the last thing I do.
