The Best Christmas Ever

Her best Christmas ever was when she was a kid. The house where they lived was for sale for the highest bid. The fall of that year she picked cotton for two weeks. It was so cold she had on a coat, gloves her face was all red and so were her cheeks. Mom and dad tried to pay the bills before their money was gone. Dad left the house to get a Christmas tree he left at dawn. That year they knew Christmas would be slim. We decorated the tree but with no electric the lights were dim. We were all suprised to see nothing under the tree. But she knew the love of her family is all she would need. They all said Christmas this year would be bad. She said it was the best Christmas she ever had. Teresa Skyles A Christmas memory my mom told me about.

Teresa, it was nice of you to write about your mom's favorite memory. IN those days, to be grateful just for family, it was a great trait that we all need to remember in these modern but also hard times! Good luck in the contest. LUv, Andrea

I wish that I could vivify my comments to you and to all better. But I end up babbling and making no sense. So, I will leave you a message today letting you know I did read your poetry and I enjoyed it. I love reading poetry and the poets here are so talented. Have a wonderful day Teresa. Love, Carol
