The Beauty Apparent
My daughters will learn in their own time,
Given they have the chance to grow.
It’s important to tell them before it’s too late
Of something I think they should know.
It’s not important, the clothes you wear
Or where you buy them from
It’s more important to gives thanks
To those from whom they come
It’s not important, if your nails
Aren’t painted just oh so right.
It’s more important to lend your hand
And not be afraid to fight.
Your appearance, you see, is just a way
To recognize you from the start.
But, the beauty apparent is clearly seen
When one’s gazing upon your heart.
You are my girls, true beauties, I’d say
And so would others, too.
So don’t worry about looking the part,
Just worry about being you.
You’re both the best that you could be,
My two little princess girls.
I wouldn’t change a thing about you,
You’re the most beautiful in my world.
