The Beach

Ocean my best friend. With a broken heart i return to you trying to mend. Couple of drinks out in the sun. Drunken bliss underneath a umbrella. what the the prety young things run. Sure im a bum what can i say. But in the pressense of prefection. Yes i can think of worse ways to spend the day. lovers will break you. The emotions like a rip current will take you. But in its crashing ways I confide. How sweet would be the moment with you by my side. I drink looking acroos the unending view. Lean apon it's sandy shoulder and question what shall i do. Fools search for the tressure that is above the ground. I speak to you stil. For even alone you are here. By a fire I see lovers pass. And i recall with fond reflection. Her wicked passion and desire with a touch of sas. alone i sit drink in hand. feeling everything so deeply. Emotions mixed with fragments of sand. No matter are failures still we must reach. For that spcial someone. As i sit lost and broken reflecting apon the beach.

Lovely, John! I, too, take my sorrows to the beach in hopes of finding comfort there. There is something so inspirational about all the elements there: salt air, splashing waves and the cries of gulls overhead. I hope you return to the beach and it helps you heal. I find it helps to write poetry there if I'm feeling down. Beautiful poetry! Love, Carolyn
