The Balcony Band
The balcony band played us in
And the corner store stayed open
The nurse she did her duty rounds
All accompanied by an ambulance siren.
The amateur dramatics are put on hold
No spot lights on in the west end shows
And the referee as blown full time
But the balcony band still played on.
You checked on your neighbour
Had a chat and did them a shop
Gave them the latest do’s and don'ts
And the balcony band played on.
The worlds still spins round and round
Day still follows night
and man will win this fight
as the balcony band played on.
