The Baby of the Earth

As by revelation, moon unfolds A sleeping angel mellows out In a crevasse, naked Dropping the apparel of foliage: Hair drooped round his sinless face, Engrossed there the toil of seafaring Swarm of limpid sweat drops Moving like dancers As if after a ballet in summer storm The crafty water flails With deep foam The baby of the earth Destined for distant shores.
