The Atheist

My friend does not believe in God, Some priest abused him at age eight. Destroyed his life and it's so sad, My friend does not believe in God. His heart is pure, that's all he had He hates religion, rejects faith- My friend does not believe in God, Some priest abused him at age eight. Cynthia Buhain-Baello~~~02.06.16 (This is a true story)

Your friend is one of thousands that have lost faith at the hands of someone who pretends to possess faith. Prayers Cynthia.

Thank you Pete Yuhas. At 78 he is just going through the healing process.

Anger effectively builds a wall around the heart Only unconditional love can open a window when a door has been locked from the inside. He must face the loss of someone he cares more about then himself if he continues to harbor his great anger, for the wall to be breached. Randy

Thank you Randolph Byrd. When he was telling this to me -it was more of concern for other children who would fall victim to the same abuse. Of anger, I found in him - none. At that age -fear & could be the strongest feelings a child could have.

it's too bad it turned him off on God. With Religion it is kind of understandable. Some religions get so out of hand. But gosh, God is everywhere. One only has to take a look at the perfection and orderliness of nature. Great poem

Thank you Andrea Dietrich- yes I agree. I saw a lot of abuses by nuns and clergy when I was in grade school and it gave me doubts about what it was all about. But a family tragedy took me to the place where I found the Truth when God found me. He is not about religion. ~~~~Cynthia

Good piece, I feel sorry about your friend however you must tell him that not all priests are the same. Being an atheist is very big he cannot say what the priest did to him made him be an atheist because Jesus or Father Christ is very different. Yes you said He's the Son and it's true but He's also a priest, the High Priest of the Catholic Church because it is a fact that He started the Catholic or Roman or Roman Catholic Church

Thank you Jacqueline R. Mendoza - I was a Catholic. I think he does not believe in the god of religion but rather the true God and having a kind and good heart, I believe God still guides him. Jesus Christ did not start the "Catholic or Roman Catholic Church" as you say. Where in the teachings of Christ did He say that? Revelation 22:16 says He addresses "churches" (not one). God cannot be found in religion (Deuteronomy 4:29 & Jeremiah 29:13-14) That's my personal experience. He also said "by the fruit you will know them."

Thank you James Inman. The boy grew up to be a kindhearted man but very cautious in friendship. He is a good friend.~~~Cynthia

Thank you Anne Lise Andersen. Yes, he is a good and and kind person, even without religion he grew up righteous in word and deed. Maybe God will change his mind.
