The Amazing Sun
Amazing Sun
The scholars of Scripture tell us that the moon and the stars came to be rulers of the night
Like you, they were placed far away with beauty and strength; but unlike you, not near as bright
O what misery and pain there must have been before you came to be the governor of the day!
It is written of you, and I believe it’s true, that you came by command on the fourth day
I never cease to be charmed by the warm touch of your rising out of the Eastern sky
And I am often awed and speechless, as I behold your gentle setting in the Western sky
