The 'Act' of Closure

Your feigned affection closes the conversation I've never lied so hard in all my life Relief replaced by fierce frustration I envy that you know you'll sleep tonight Did I do ok? Say all the right things? Now do you believe me more than last time? I could never change how I'm wired, how I think But you see no harm in leaving this behind Seems you were right when you made me move on Not one part of you was roused to fight The faintest glimmer of hope that you were wrong Has lost it's last shimmer of light
