The Abyss
Locked in seething twilight,
under canyons no one knows.
Chained to walls of murder,
and wearing flaming clothes.
A devil denies my hunger,
and only feeds this cancer.
Tearing flesh off of my bones,
is the only accepted answer.
This sinister place fuels me,
and it begs for my sanity.
A culling of my very soul,
and the end of my humanity.
The morsels of my soul,
lay crumbs of rotting flesh.
The ghastly figure that remains.
is no longer warm and fresh.
There is a grotesque smell,
a foulness that goes undefined.
I can not help but cringe,
as the odor leaves me blind.
Nothing can prove my innocence,
I am condemned by angelic law.
The burning coals like absinthe,
completely numb my broken jaw
The screams are all around me,
tortured souls that never knew.
For sinners dwell in eternal red,
while the rest of heaven is blue.
