The Absence of Humanity

Our souls are given breath of life the day that we are born. But the absence of humanity can leave our souls so torn. To even try to tolerate such asinine behavior. Is but a slap into the face of our graceful savior. Nobody is born perfect, no, not one mortal soul. But if you've no humanity, you never can be whole. For God instilled in each of us a sense of love and kindness. To live life any other way, is to live life in blindness. So absence of humanity, we cannot tolerate. For living without love in heart, only leaves us hate. We ask ourselves so many things though out our years on earth. But tolerating what's not just, diminishes our worth.

LOVE that last line. Is this for the toleration contest then? I like how you reflect on humanity in this poem. I think one of the biggest dilemmas we face is what to do with those who have NO humanity, no soul. They kill for pure pleasure of it. Instead of letting them live forever in prison, wasting our tax dollars, do we kill them? Or do we use "kindness" and let them live locked up? that's a really hard one!
