The Bells of Autumn
THE BELLS OF AUTUMN
The leaves will slowly fall away
After the harvest’s end is nigh
Now soon the winter comes to stay
Ring out wild bells to the wild sky
We rest and gather fruits around
And smile with thanks : our relief we sigh
The nuts, the seeds in the barn abound
Ring out wild bells to the wild sky
The leaves are gold, the days are cold
The Halloween fire flares up high
There’s joyous stories to be told
Ring out wild bells to the wild sky
