Written: April 13, 2024 For Ink Empress Contest Rumi Quote: “Words can fertilize space now and then; don't deny yourself becoming enriched.” “Words can fertilize space now and then; don't deny yourself becoming enriched.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then Love was an aesthetic aquiver, an amber mist trailed me~ eagerly awaiting my experience, upon awakening, I gaze below my pillow, to descry what appears to be a fairy gift always beside me, never hiding~  words uttered effortlessly blithely beshrewing, my first outfit, Love caught in apricity~ to test it, by smiling flirtatiously, at my doll, Ken. He burdly grinned—I figured he knew Seventh grade offers paper-strip love,  the one who kept me euphoric, Indigo glittery auric script, my love, my heart is brimming with flowers, violets, and blue. Do you feel the same for me?  Now Gone inner harmony ears sway~ Klatch hovers in ethereal serenity, to dream away chimera, water rules sway, and ambrosian sky, this utopia simplifies life searing copper—diaphanous screen, Art optics are spirit, showing marvels~ amid dulcet waves and stars, dazzling in vast dreamscape and desultory humdrum chinwag, Elysian strength outshines, Ephemeral growth and decrease Inane—ambiguous epoch~ dance and sports are esoteric, relationships are ethereal—fugacious, All hands cloud my dreams, a dreamworld Oh! Oh! my ether, At first glance, a smile says it all, sparks dance and navigate, in a lovely, gossamer utopia~ with a glow steers soul music, Just one eye, moon, and sun, we dance on seams again, truth yields frivolous fantasies rhythms and views garrulous our celestial life inveigles kismet~ potential-filled hearts, utmost lips, lovely when they touch, dreamland is so lovely!  It softly sways in grace,  In my heart, I grasp myself. Between then and now. from Dad, stop setting my acts, to, I need your wary eye, Dad Between then and now from Dad, you don't beget it. to Dad, I'm lost in confusion, between then and now, from, Dad, stop your inquiries. to, Dad, I got endless queries, between then and now From Dad, leave me be, to Dad, never rescind me, between then and now I knew that my half had created my heart~ Inert history remains, A stained future cannot last, Ignoring present could cease it, Over time, grief, fulfillment, ambiguity and interplay.
I love the growth. A lot has happened and it has happened differently. Was a great piece and lovely use of words. "A stained future cannot last, Ignoring present could cease it, Over time, grief, fulfilment, ambiguity and interplay." So true. We should live in the present and not in the future.
This journey from puppy love to mature love is a long journey and you have delineated it in excellent diction. Your vocabulary always amazes me, dear friend. Half of them I have never used anywhere....! This poem has taken me to the transformative stages of love and the inner conflict you experienced. "At first glance, a smile says it all, sparks dance and navigate, in a lovely, gossamer utopia~ with a glow steers soul music, Just one eye, moon, and sun, we dance on seams again," Love is like a current charging our whole body and taking one to seamless heights. Excellent !
a thought provoking and introspective poem, dear Sotto. You write with such intricacy and elegance that I felt as if I was with you as you journeyed from then until now..the lifelong journey we all take from innocence to experience. Your eloquent language was engaging as I reflected upon my own journey. What a fabulous contest entry! Best wishes with the contest, your poetess friend in Texas, Sara
Hello Sotto, I think your reflection on the evolution of love and life is deeply thought-provoking. The contrast between "Then" and "Now" eloquently shows the journey from innocence to experience, from simplicity to complexity. I loved how rich and evocative your words are, capturing the essence of each moment along the way. The final stanza, encapsulates the tumultuous yet transformative nature of growth and self-discovery. It truly shows the inevitability of change and the importance of embracing each stage of life with grace and acceptance. A very introspective piece my friend, - Blessings, Daniel
