That Sunset Never Seen
Climbing a steep daisy-swarmed hill,
so careful not to crush any of them,
I reached the pine grove feeling the chill
of an evening that painted an unusual sunset.
The peaceful bay glistened with sun rays,
somewhat brighter than any sunrise I had seen in years;
I stooped low to catch that deep scarlet sky matching the blooming roses below,
one couldn't distinguish earth from sky...even the soft waves had a reddish flow!
Every evening that sunset never seen comes to mind,
it never returned to enchant me with its indescribable radiance...
as it did towards the close of day when no noise muffled any sound;
yes, I could have claimed it as my discovery: my own sunset stirring up my emotions!
