That Is Where the Fruits Are
Most children love climbing trees
The higher the tree
The more you can see
The farther up the tree you go,
The more your juices start to flow
Excitement mounts as you get high
Assorted birds go flying by
Busy birds have made their nest
To lay eggs for them to rest
Before it's time for them to hatch
Their mother looks for worms to catch,
To feed her growing baby chicks
Most children love to climb trees,
The higher you go, the more you see,
But some children are afraid
They see the dangers that outweigh
The thrill of climbing way up high
On a vast tree that touches the sky.
Most of us love all trees,
And appreciate the magnificence of all of these
Content to stand and stare
At a spectacle that we all can share
Most children love to climb trees,
The higher you go, the more you see
Some children climb halfway
And get stuck, and have to stay
Until someone can come and save
As they are not as brave
As those who start to climb on a whim,
And find they have to go out on a limb
Because that is where all the fruits are.
