That Church
She had never gone before as it wasn't her thing
But there at the door she could hear the choir sing
Determined to follow through she just walked in
An usher saying how are you with a great big grin
Sitting in the last pew as the mass began to start
As this was all so new and this feeling in her heart
She sat and then stood and then sat once again
As the priest talked of the good that is within all men
They sung some songs and said the Lord's Prayer
Asking to forgive wrongs in so acting morally fair
Then they stood in line like they were addressing a King
I heard that they drank wine as again they began to sing
It wasn't until leaving in something she couldn't handle
It was an old woman grieving and lighting this candle
She thought of her own Dad such a great man was he
In feeling so sad, "maybe I'll light a candle from me"
Kneeling now side by side as she just stared at the flame
But then broke down and cried as life would never be the same
When the old woman turned and whispered into her ear
With God, one thing I have learned is you need not ever fear
