Thank You Miss Maddy

THANK YOU MISS MADDY Maddy baked some cookies, She shared a few with us. When we took a little taste We got a full flavor rush. For hidden in those cookies Buried away down deep We found some flavor chips A great big giant heap. There were many different kinds A virtual rainbow of rich flavors. Each one seemed a favorite My sweet tooth often savors. But have I mentioned the size Of these tasty, giant hub caps. You can’t eat a whole one Or they’ll begin to play taps. We found it best to break it up Sharing each one with a friend Or you might simple burst Before you reach its end. So here’s a “Hats off” To our new family cook. If she keeps this up, I’ll need my belt to unhook. Thank you Miss Maddy For sharing them with us. As you practice techniques. You’ll make extra, we trust. :o) Grumpy & grandmaKarren Written by oldbuck, Nov9,2015 After one of his granddaughters Shared her first batch of cookies.

Undoubtedly you made Maddy's day by dedicating a delightful poem about her initial attempts at cooking. A bit of encouragement goes a long way. Regards // paul

Paul: Thanks for reading and responding to my silly rhyme. She is a lovely young lady that has an endless smile. I would love to have her remember me in years to come as supportive and encouraging rather than just grumpy. Thanks again for your thoughtful remarks. oldbuck

I love baking cookies with my daughters Old Buck. My oldest daughter is now an exceptional baker at 16.

Tim: That sounds like fun, but truth is, I'm more of an eater than baker. :o) I think that's from living with a great cook for over 55 years. Thanks for your thoughtful response to my foolishness. oldbuck

Jan: They actually were very good. This was written as a Thank you card for Maddy but I put it on soup thinking there might be other parents / grand parents that would enjoy reading it and remembering a similar experience with one of their own. I'm glad you enjoyed it. oldbuck
