Thank You Covid 19

Thanks to Covid 19, I see the world in a new, invigorating light. I can calm down during day, not just when diamond stars come out at night. I have time to savor my coffee in the morning, not merely gulp it in the car. There are moments I can jot down notes to myself, revitalizing my own star. Instead of watching the clock from three-thirty until I get to leave work at four, I can lie in the sun on the porch while I do my telecommuting, no big chore. Traffic is no longer stressing me out so badly I am in a horrible mood all day. I no longer dread it, as it is not a part of my life now, in any kind of way. Forced to learn six new computer programs I would have never learned at all If the Covid 19 had not come along; they have made me feel rather tall. Nurses and doctors are finally getting attention, and feeling true love from us. We had previously taken them for granted, and now they enjoy a bit of fuss. My dog and cat are thrilled beyond belief that I am home lounging in my chair. They cuddle up beside me, so glad that Mom is home, playing with my hair. Such a relaxed feeling for all of us, as we enjoy less stress and strife today. Hope when this pandemic is over, some of us can stay a bit of this same way. Covid 19 was frustrating in the beginning, but now I truly must admit I am enjoying this slow down, less paced life, more than a little bit. My husband had to get used to having me about, under his foot and such. But now we are getting romantic and cuddly, and we like it very much!

Completely with you here. Never been so stress-free in my life; neither has my wife. Son who lives at home bonds better with us and we with him. Great 'interlude.' Hope the positives are permanent! :) gw

The positives are remarkable, but oh, I do miss my grandchildren!

it's great that you're able to focus on the positive, caren! while i certainly agree that there are advantages to this new life we're leading (which you've described so well in your poem!), i'd trade them all in a minute to return to the life i used to have (which i'm sure i'll never have again)...

I am starting to wonder too if we will ever get back to our old norms.

Love it, Karen. Much truth in it, too! If I haven't posted lately it's because my computer's on the blink and I haven't been able to fix it. It may also be a problem with Soup headquarters. I can call up other posts but can submit my own. Keep getting this message about lifetime membership? Happy to hear you're well. / M
