Tent City

A park in downtown Where the children play A park for many events Canada's Day celebrations Christmas lights festivals All through the park A statue of Queen Elizabeth Stands tall in this park Many people come here For lighting of the tree Sing Christmas carols A pond where the swans The geese and other birds Come to swim and cool off Yet not at this time It is tent city These people camped here They throw the garbage Into the big pond No swimming for swans These people litter the park The swans and geese have nowhere to swim These people are staying there Until the month of November They have nowhere to go

Hi Darlene this happens everywhere in the world its very sad to say, they do have nowhere to go and they don't care it is not theirs, so it doesn't worry them. The world should build cheap accommodation for these people in turn get paid a minimal amount repayment for cheap housing, and are given jobs like cleaning the pond, picking up litter, even maybe put a pot plant outside their tent. it is an increasing problem countries must act now. Yes some cheap accommodations are being built. But not fast enough. They were told that their tent city will be placed somewhere else. But did not say where it would be. they should have a roof over their head not living in a tent. Blessings and hugs . Darlene.

Thes homless people chose the area where there is a large pond where the geese and swans swim. Filled it with garbage. When i heard that i was screaming on the inside. They should not have done that. Also people live around the park They see the uglness they do.

Hello Jennifer, Victoria Park is a beautiful park. It is huge. A playground for children, Anarea for the waterpark in summer. An area wher couples get married and have a reception . A plaace to celebrateother things.

Hello Susan, it is sad to see a beautiful park that eveone goes to to spend the day. It is a hugs park An area where ther is a hugs pond for the geese and swans. Their pond littered with garbage by the homeless people. So sad. Breaks my heart.

A great pick for POTD, Darlene. I did have to smile a bit at "A statue of Queen Elizabeth/Stands tall in this park"...especially since she, herself is so small and not at all a very imposing figure.

Things are going to alarming situations. If Canda's condition is like this, think of the developing and under developed countries. Corruption on one side, disease, war and conflicts on the other.
