Temple
People look at me and see a fortress.
Someone without weakness.
A carefree soul without boundaries.
A welcoming warm heart. A shell full of life.
I find an aura is what we seek and a tender touch is what we crave.
Sickened by the way we bind ourselves to materialistic things.
Can we not just seek friendship, love and understanding.
The wrong say I am weak because I look good for in all.
I've come from little in my life. I've been beaten down and scarred.
My innocence was taken very young, but I will not let that alter the way I see
things!
I refuse to believe we were put here to dwell on the past.
So much is given to be thankful for.
Why live for the bad?
I have strength but I am no fortress.
My walls do come down.
My heart has been cold but then I was saved.
I knew I wasn't alone.
I seek to share all this life I hold inside.
When I look at people I see promise. I see love.
Hearts bonding. Friendships being made.
Now I ask you why not live for the moment. Live for each other.
Let it go, its not as if you're going to get out alive.
