Tell Me

I am told How can you believe In someone you never see In someone you never feel In someone you never hear How can you believe In fairy tales Based on abstract and surreal? I will tell you I do not need arm-twisting Or hypnotic mind games To reach my conclusions It is not just blind faith It is a simple matter Of seeking with the heart Not by going on e-bay. I see God all around me In the beauty of creation In the joy and suffering of others In the growth of a plant The birth of a child The change of night and day The passage of time I see him. I feel him in moments of need When weakness bears on me When he raises me up And lifts me from pain and despair When I’m lost in darkness And he sends a guiding light I feel him walking by my side I feel him. I hear him when the wind blows When a breeze caresses me I hear him where silence reigns Or where the waters lap And gently tease my mind I hear him. Because my mind thinks My heart feels My soul flows with emotions I believe in him. But most of all I believe Because on admitting my faults I sense his healing hand And I understand that God Is there for me at all times. I believe in Him. ----------------------------------- Contest: Tell Me ~ March 2015 Sponsor: Richard Lamoureux Placing: 3rd

Very eloquent and truly inspiring piece on experiencing God and I am so blessed I found this poem. The lines are exactly what someone who experiences Him every moment can feel and comprehend, and this ever-growing knowledge unfolds because of His own love. Thank you for writing it.

Ha, this is the best of the lot. God is such a simple think. No one has to tell you nothing. You can feel Him. He's there for you - all the time. Why seek Him in places afar? Why name Him names? I really, really enjoyed reading this. Great work.

I am a simple man. I am not, nor have i ever been, religious. I have an inquiring mind and have always placed my faith in science. However, that aside, to naysayers and disbelievers of an all-powerful, all-encompassing, all-knowing God i say this: What created that small, millet sized grain that contained all the matter of an expanding universe to blimp into existence? Did it "will" itself from a nothingness devoid of everything but "Free-Will". Or was it the will of a God? Take your choice...:)

Hi John! Believing in a supernatural being does not come by forming part of a religion, but through using our intellect. Most important is being honest with ourselves. Thank you for the intelligent feedback. // paul
