Tell Me

There is a gift, a beautiful gift Not made with human hands Freely given to those who believe. This gift comes from God above. Maker of heaven and earth. What is this special gift, you may ask? God has given us the gift of His Son. Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. Jesus came to us to save us from our sins. Even faith is a gift from God, not from ourselves. Some people think they are not sinners. "I'm a good person. I don't break the laws." "I give to the needy. I'm fine the way I am." Yet, this is the great lie from the enemy, satan. When we think this way, why would we need God? The world is filled with evil. Man is in rebellion Against God. God knew this. He had a plan. The Savior, Jesus, died for sinners so we can become right with God and receive eternal life. Only those who repent of their sins and believe can be saved from sin and eternal death. This is the narrow way. There is only one Truth. Jesus said, " He who hates Me, hates my Father also." (John 15:23) Strong words. Dividing words. True words. To understand what Christians believe follow The Five Solas penned by Martin Luther: We believe... by Scripture Alone by Faith Alone by Grace Alone through Christ Alone to the Glory of God Alone. Then ask God to reveal His Truth to you. Only in Jesus Christ can we find true love, forgiveness and eternal life. Written on 3/19/2015

A frank, and informative declaration of faith delivered with obvious sincerity and urgency from a believer's heart filled with compassion for those who do not. I'm glad I saw again Richard's list. I appreciate this moment, Laura. Congratulations! Kim :)

Thanks so much, Kim! It's what I believe, and although direct, I intended it to be that way. True faith to me is the difference between life and death regarding one's destiny. God bless :)

Thank you, Richard, for creating this wonderful and supremely important topic that gets us to think in the core of our being what we truly believe. Thanks for considering my very straight forward poem and for the placement it received. God bless! :)

Wonderfully written words of truth, Laura. For some, it's difficult to read your kind of straight shooting, but Jesus said He is the only way to the Father. A loving God would give nothing but one path and one answer. Why would he give us many, winding paths? Well done! Hugs, Rhonda

Thank you, Rhonda. I felt led to say the truth plainly this time. The gospel will never be popular, but to those who believe, it is the words of life. I'm thankful that you are a believer. God bless!

I didn't beat around the bush on this one. The Godpel is too important to be taken lightly. It's a matter of life and death, literally. Thank you, John, for your encouraging comment.
