Technology

A slave to technology I am They always tell me what to do Today I started up my car It told me when the next service was due As for my blooming laptop It nearly always keeps me waiting Every time I use this beast It always say's that it's updating My mobile phone is so demanding I go to switch it on Then I find I have lost the bloody charger Can't find find out where it has gone Yes everything's technology And this I must accept I always do the best I can But I am out of my depth It seems the kids, they know it all So, I ask them to help me Makes me feel like such a fool But I guess that's how thing's be __

Vera: Maybe we remember "the good old days" playing outside and running free while today's youngsters will someday remember "electronic game playing" as their "good old days". I like our days best. Thanks for sharing your frustrations with all of us on the soup. oldbuck

Oh yes I certainly do Old Buck, I was raised in the country here in Australia, and life was wonderful, never even had electricity but these days are unreal and I do have trouble keeping up, lucky we have a daughter and 15 year old grandson living with us, thank you for your comment and take care.......Vera

Oh I agree with you Judy, we are quite lucky as our daughter Lisa is quite a whiz on computers and then there is her 14 year old son Jakob who is also very clever and the best part is they live with us, so whenever we need them they are there, thank you so much for the comment and take care......Vera.

Hi Eve, thank you so much for the visit, lucky you having a granddaughter to guide you, I am afraid mine think we are too old to hang out with and besides they are always too busy on their little gadgets, this is where I hate technology, it has spoilt relationships, but I am afraid it is here to stay, take care my friend.......Vera

:-). So true. I find myself panicked if I go some where and realize I don't have my phone with me! Wasn't too many years ago the darn thing was attached to the wall and things worked just fine;-) Enjoyed reading your techPO ~ john

I'm right there with you on this one Vera. My phone is always telling me to update it and I keep saying no, leave me alone. But it doesn't listen. Kind of creepy in a way. I loved your poem, it was wonderfully written and it's message I know a lot of us can relate to.

Thank you Chris, give me the old fashion ways of doing things, I used to service my own car until technology came out, used to spend a lot of time in the garden and going out until computers came along but we still have a home phone thank goodness, hope you are well, take care and a Merry Christmas to you and your family.........Vera
