Tears From God

I looked up and saw the sky turning dark and heard a great roar from the clouds And in slow motion rain drops began to fall from the heavens Now some would say that every time it rains we get to see tears from God’s eyes And I used to think this was nothing but a fable, story, or lie But today as it rained for a second everything rested in mid air and my eyes happened upon something so rare I saw the reflection of every sin I ever committed within the rain, drop by drop, tear by tear, Every lie, all the cheating, taking advantage of others, the stealing, the disrespect, and disregard for righteousness In that moment I felt a wave of guilt rush over me and I found myself trying to swim away from the devil He had me drowning in sin Drip, drip, rain pouring hard, hard days and hardships but all of the sudden the drips turned into blood, blood mixed with rain but this was the kind that washes away any and all pain Thus he wiped away every sin, every tear from my life After every flood the sun comes up with a rainbow at the end and I start to remember Yes I have sinned, yes I will sin again, no I’m not perfect, but he is And as the rain goes away I can see the cross standing atop the hill firm like a palm tree in a hurricane Thinking to myself God is always here and he doesn’t love us any less because of our sins So this time I will learn from them because that’s what the Christian walk is about Living, learning, and sharing his love Stay positive and feed off his words, the sunshine always breaks through the clouds and evaporates the rain p.s. now instead of tears of sadness it rains tears of joy…

Amazing..the emotions you have penned feel intimate with a vulnerability that is quite moving. I like how you begin with scepticism and take us on your journey to personal revelations, ending in enlightenment. This is deeply relatable and wonderfully expressive. Truly, terrific writing and a joy to read :-) blessings, lynn
