Tattoos and Titles

Is there any kind of person who is perfect, an example? Someone that helps every single day should be ample, Although could even that one be considered perfect? People aren't perfect, so that's what you would expect. Status and position, you can be born into it, or find it, The appearance you have doesn't matter, don't mind it, Or else you'll find yourself in a precarious predicament. Knowing what to do is starting to become omnipotent With professors, doctors, priests, soldiers, and bankers. Because they have their skin emblazoned with anchors, Anchors to the soul, body and mind, or the literal form. Fact is, people have to hide their anchors, it's 'the norm'. Lets say a qualified person is reconstructing your heart, Would you really care if their skin were covered in art? What about serving in the war, rolling up their sleeves, To reveal more sleeves, and everyone tattooed leaves.

Love your poem Michael. Since in some areas tattoos became popular in prison, they are still seen negatively by some. Your poem shows it does not matter, anyone can have them and it does not make them any less of who they are or what they do. Wish others would realize this, especially in the professional world. Tattooed vet here by the way :)

Michael, I guess there is more ways to paint tattoos on a sleeve. Some are revealing others are skin deep. This is a clever poem. The flow, rhyme and concept. I really think this is unique. My favorite line and metaphor are the anchors to the soul. The weight certain titles are embroiled in...Linda

Thanks for the kind words Linda, the piece was originally going to end up as a rap song, but I have no musical knowledge or skill (go figure lol) so I wrote it into a poem instead! As always, love the feedback! ~ Micilo
