You've got me playing the 'Name Game,' Jeff: 'Let's do 'Tanka!' Tanka, tanka, bo-banka; banana-fana bo-banka; fi-fie fo-fanka --- TANKA! Cheers, Gershon

Ha, do you remember the old camp rhyme, Flee, Flee Fly, Flee Fly Flo? That’s what yours reminds me of. Take care!

Jeff, I think this is marvelous! I think the tanka is supposed to tell a story in very few lines, but that is almost impossible to do. I don't think I've ever achieved it, although I've tried. Your rhymes are neat!

I really can't answer that. I think the poet has some latitude with length, but I can't say for sure. I'm generally done with the idea in five lines, but I really admire those who can do more stanzas and keep the theme going.

Yeah, I'm going to have to take another run at it. Are multi-verse tankas a thing? (allowed, or a violation of the form?) I did one earlier, but not using the 3 line/2 line pattern the way it is intended
