Talking To the Moon

Looking at the stars last night, I felt you close and near. I wondered why, you left and why you left me here? The stars above didn't answer me. Turn to the moon. "Please help me please." The Moon asked,"Why are you sad, young man?" "Not in the stars, not in the plans." The moon was saddened when he heard me sigh. He shined and saw deep inside. " It was you who held the key, to unlock those chains, to set you free" Thanks to the moon my Chains are broken, cause I realized the words he'd spoken... Michael Tor

… The moon was saddened when he heard me sigh. Perhaps life all around us is saddened along with us…

Life is like this, why not have a chat with the moon about it, it won't ever tell you not to believe in yourself. Nice write!

The moon answered you well Michael - you are young and you do hold the key to your heart, and if someone that is thinking of breaking up with you, don,t stress, a young handsome, talented poet, will one day find the girl of his dreams. Hi Michael...I see that you address the moon as a 'he'; same applies in our Maltese culture. Many countries refer to it as a 'she'. I like the message you convey in the closing lines....we often hold the key to our problems. ~ Regards // paul

How bizarre!!! I wrote a poem about how the moon only understands, a bit different to this one, but same context, kinda... the moon always understands and is always there in dark times.... we all make mistakes my friend.. some live with us forever.... nice poem and nice to see a none political one lol

It is ironic we wrote with the moon being involved. Great minds think alike. Just kidding...

It is so nice to see a "poem" because I think you write so much in prose, I do not get to see this poetic touch as much as I'd like to. I really like the poignancy you show here and the ending is just spot on, Michael!

So true Kelli The moons light help me see that sometimes we are our worst enemies. We hang on to a lost love that is never coming back and it hurts to hold on to that love, so we must let go, and in this case letting go was taking the key and opening the lock that held the chain which metaphorically was not letting go of the love for this girl by unchaining my pain, I was able to not have that pain inside because I chose to let it go. Thanks for stopping by Kelli...

That ending line is ever so true, I see a spark of optimism in that line and I know that you realize you do "hold the key".
