Taking Happiness By the Hand
This summer was sunsets
and skipping rocks.
I took my own happiness by the hand
There was midnight adventures
after the club, with my best friends
Slinky black dress,
and a touch of pink on my cheeks
Illuminated by the lights on the street
Lil wayne Blaring from the stereo
I took off the stilleto heels and just walked in my bare feet
The cool night air was delicious
Hitting my skin like butterfly kisses
We were the rulers of the night
UNTOUCHABLE
to
Woe
There was August rain
Solitary runs through my secret garden
I passed through the bridge over the river
I never worried about a thing.
My feet hit the wet sidewalk,
Like Godzilla in Japan, I was all mighty and Powerful
There was quiet mornings,
I drank coffee and let my paint brush
explore the vastness of canvas page
I tried to capture the essence of the night sky
Each stroke was therapeutic, and I left all painful memories of the past behind
This summer was sunsets
and skipping rocks.
I took my own happiness by the hand
