Take Me To An Old Rainy Day By Uncle Toad and the Wart Hogs

I looked up one day and my childhood was gone. My memory faded and it didn’t take long. My slice of the pie, Has turned in crumbs. Shadows of ghosted memories Have made my heart numb. So take me to an old rainy day Pour me out a sunset, That will take my breath away. Hold me in the sunrise, That will never escape. Soak me in the memories, Of an old rainy day. Coulda swore I heard my grandpa laughing today, The very first old dog I ever knew, knew my secrets too, he coulda told a tale or two, but he took em to his grave. That grandpa and that dog, Taught me about love. I still miss them both, Everyday. So take me to an old rainy day Pour me out a sunset, That will take my breath away. Hold me in the sunrise, That will never escape. Soak me in the memories, Of an old rainy day. This world has passed me by, But I was just along for the ride, Anyway. So take me to an old rainy day Pour me out a sunset, That will take my breath away. Hold me in the sunrise, That will never escape. Soak me in the memories, Of an old rainy day. . Knock knock knocking on heavens door. If that cat could talk what tales he’d tell. . . . . . . .
