Syndrome

I saw unpaid policies A busted borehole I saw my Mama die And our broken cars I saw them grabbing the land And defrauding the will I saw no money coming in And the torture of our rabid dog Saw him biting another getting rabies too Saw him biting the gardener And many worries entering I saw the money going out And my sisters bickering I saw you leaving me alone I felt my world was caving in I never saw your love for me And never felt so much alone Your honouring my name You were the closest thing I saw Never knew that I could hurt so bad And then I turned it all on you So sorry- doesnt quite cut it I wont let you take me back In case it comes around again Dont kick a dog when it doesnt understand

Jannie, this is poignant, and powerful; I feel most of us have experienced something that made us feel a bit of this, but not exactly the same. "I felt my world was caving in". You have my warmest wishes and prayers my friend.

Its a mere sort of narrative about what I went through in 2016. All has changed for the better now but those regrets still follows me like a loyal dog. Thank you for visiting

Jannie, i love the depth of your emotion in your poems like this one. I am so sorry about what is happening in your country. It's so scary. Gotta start praying harder for you and your country!

I am honoured by your visit Andrea and grateful . Yes, the people are in deep suffering and the future is without any hope unless our Creator Himself intervenes now.

I was so happy to see your comment, now that you have posted again. You have been on my mind so much lately. I came down with bronchitis St. Patrick's Day and it wiped me out. Your poem surrenders part of your injured heart and I can feel the pain seeping from your words. If our prayers can indeed work miracles then you are on your way to better days my friend. Blessings this Easter. Your poetry speaks to me and I can relate to some of your uncertainties. Love, Connie xxoo

What a reply!! You understand so much. The above isnt really a poem. Its an admission of guilt. This Easter will go down Everybody is on their knees here. So much blood has flowed. Rumours and lies and uncertainty, yes. Who does one believe? I just know I have friends "over there" . Wonderful friend ,thank you

Superb, My Brother Poet, with the hard-hitting and powerful phrasing I would expect from you, though layers are there as well, enough to spin the imagination in its own vortices ... I can't tell you how hyped I was to see your comment today, and then find this gem ... waiting for proper perusal. I wish I could wave a magic wand for your country and fellows, as it all breaks my heart. Excellent write, Jannie - I believe we view the world much the same. Blessings! :-) - G
