Sweet Dreams
I startle myself awake, slowly opening my eyes,
Sweat drips persistently off my soaking wet brow.
Those sweet thoughts of you still fresh and new,
Wishing I was back in the dream an after-thought.
It’s almost as if it could all be real and never a fiction,
Yearning for what I felt to be a complete reality.
The way you smelt still fresh within my tingling nose,
The way the fragrance blended to you and only you.
How your body moved so sensually across the floor,
Every motion a ballet being performed for me alone.
Your outfit so seductive it fits you so provocatively,
Like melted chocolate fondue poured on a ripe berry.
Looking around finally, I see your smile reaching for me
As if to say “no worries you weren’t dreaming after all”!
