Sweats and Sweets

In one graceful motion, I lift my love on high with all my strength, suffering and sweat until hills fall in shadow. Until my words die upon sweetened breath, I shall never forget - I am fated to long for our lover's duet. How can I break away, retreat from this - a taste of forbidden love for my soul to graze, to want eternally? For one summer day of bliss, glazed, green apple eyes enticed with their gaze while berry-kissed lips set lush fields ablaze. In one fluid motion, I poured over you, drizzled my love like honey. An impassioned sun burned bold at midnight until Venus flew and beads of sweat fell from heavens undone; until, no going back, we, two, became one. When my arms lift you into realms higher than I'll ever know and stars sparkle near like beautiful, new lovers to desire, remember my sweat and sacrifice, my dear. I lift you with waning days of sweet youth and tears. Written 6/18/15 for Olive's Sweats and Sweets Contest

Rhonda - I note the only person you replied to is the sponsor of the contest. I actually wrote a question as well, asking you when you are going to judge the "Florida Nature" contest, the deadline for which was March 16th. When are you going to do that?

I've NEVER had to block anyone on this site before. You might be my first.

I did respond to your soupmail and told you I was dealing with health problems. You are an insensitive person and you have no idea what people are going through in their "real" livesm

It's not any of your business, Julia, but I prefer to spend my time visiting the poetry of the poets who visit mine. I don't have time to respond to every comment. No one has ever excused me of being rude in all my years on this site. I've heard many call you rude.

Your correspondents wouldn't like the way you ignore them. THAT'S being rude, and asking about your failed contest is not... I did write you a soupmail some time back, but you ignored it, as you ignore the contest, your correspondents, etcetera, etcetera. JULIA WARD

I'm sorry that you don't like the way I comment...I'm sorry you are so bothered by my contest results not posted yet. In the future, I prefer you soupmail me with your concerns. You're reputation for rudeness precedes you.

wow, Rhonda. that is utterly gorgeous. The title of the contest was just not one that I could come up with a beauty of a poem. Sweat is a non-count non, and I cannot bring myself to write of sweat and then give a title in the plural. So I did mine on sweats, as in sweat pants. haha. I kind of wish I'd done one like yours. I could always change the title after the contest!! This better appear on the winners' list because it is superb!

Very nice... However, when are you going to get around to judging the "Florida Nature" contest, the deadline for which was March 16th? We all went to a lot of trouble to do these poems for you.

Oh my Rhonda....this is going to be at the top of the winner's list I predict. It is written with such elegance that the love you speak of takes on a Divine presence, romance heightened to the heavens. I loved it and must fave it my friend! You don't need any luck with this beauty. 7
