Swans Flight
The last wee fledgling
Is stretching her wings
She's flying the nest
To branch out and sing...
Her own song...
Mama bird though, is tearful , and bereft
Though she knows they're both grown
And need nests of their own
They've been getting ready to soar
Since before they were born
Sometimes they've been her only reason to live for...
And although mama bird
Made her fair share of mistakes
When wisdom wasn't always
There in plain sight
Her chicks they have given her
Heart reason to sing
Like beautiful Nightingale
Like magpies joy of bling
And as her grown swans
Spread wings and take flight
Though it makes her heart sore
Their beauty in freedom
Makes life worth living for
