Back for a second read, seems like the panther may be attacking someone in the dark for his survival. Works both ways, I guess. Sara

clever Haiku. Simple yet somehow profound. Even in darkness we can be panthers and attack the darkness. Well said.

This is a chilling scene that you painted in this haiku! Panthers are beautiful, but deadly without question, I never would want to meet one face to face. They are cute as sweet stuffies from the toy department...but that's one kitty we wouldn't want to play around with if it is the real thing! The thought of the dark jungle and a panther is a terrifying combination and is the stuff of a nightmare! ~BJ

Excellent tension! Whenever I think if the magnificent looking black panther, the Jungle Book comes to mind, and Mowgli's formidable friend. Joe.

Not a place to be after dark, but sometimes in the city it is a different kind of cat that is ready to attack and now not only in the dark. Your visit to my page was inspiring. Sara

Thank you, Tom. I wouldn't want to be what stands in the way of a panther that needs meat to live. Bill
