Support Midst Comfort
We are more than friends bound by sisterly cord
Tied around the loving care of the Lord
Never to be separated by sickness-sword…
There was I hurting, striving to dispel attacking gloom
Begging God for strength while entering patient’s room
Ambivalent, if plea was for her; or for me to face hope’s bloom…
Witnessing anguish caused by ailment woe
My heart did languish, confessing painful blow
Beseeching divine intervention for life extension glow…
Indeed, the Lord’s grace, mercy, and peace* abound
To "caress the broken heart with threads of muted sound"**
Reaching-out with care, assuring presence where support is found…
Here am I again… vanquishing dart of pain
While faith treads onward, anticipating answered prayer-gain
Triumphant to behold miracles that still reign!
*2Thessalonians 3:16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means...
