Sunrise At the Lake
A breathtaking view of dawn's light breaking out,
and warming rays of sun spilling all about,
like a liquid red-gold paint upon the lake.
With an anchor to the ground I stand and gaze.
The morning fog is gone and darkness washed away.
A spider spins a web of silver gleeming on display.
A blue jay perched high up on the pines and sings away.
A wonder of this world is sunrise at the lake.
