Sunlight

Early morning sun Filtering through autumn leaves : Shards of golden light, Sun through dancing leaves, Scintillating shapes abound, Lively pulsing light Dispels autumn gloom, Banishes the morning mist, Clothes the land in light. Autumn bonfire smoke Supports pale slanted sunbeams Through oak tree branches. The sun grows tired Sinking gently in the sky Casting long shadows. A ghostly twilight Permeates the silent land : Slowly, darkness falls.

Thanks Lin. The inspiration was Radio 3's National Poetry Day programme on Haikus
