Sunlight

yellow sphere rises daily illuminating a once-dark world traveling from east to west rapidly in winter months when sun’s deprivation finds Earth dwellers in gloomy spirits longer hours of sunlight add joy to summer months warming seas for swimmers raising flowers from the soil radiating on verdant fields kissing golden meadows a star blessed with life-giving power by a beneficent Creator

People do seem more depressed during winter months. I guess the lack of sunshine has something to do with it. Your last verse is lovely. Best to you, Diane

Awesome piece of poetry, Carolyn! It is a nice experience to have longer days here now. In winter it's dark from 4 p.m. to 7 a.m....All the best and stay healthy!! Ma muscle pain is better but still persistent nheadache especially in the afternoon and evening. Love, Gert

there has been so many of these poems with the same name it is very confusing, i know each one is different and is for the contest, but still confusing i don't know if i have read them or not until i check. this was a good one as they all have been, it will be tough to judge the winner. thank you for commenting on A Rose Fell

The sparks of this Gem like Poem are so beautiful my friend. You have sketched a very beautiful scene in this lovely write. Sun remains definitely the most precious gift of God for the entire earth and thanks for your kind and precious comments on my Poem for this 73 years old man Anna Hazare, who has sparked a new awakening and hopes in India by his fasting on the pattern of Mahatma Gandhi. Thanks once again Carolyn. Love and best wishes always..Ravindra..C Devonshire.
