Sunflower

Your once proud head Now droops in sorrow, Your bright yellow petals Slowly wilts away, As you find yourself dumped in the bin. With little or no thought Of the life still within. Sunflower, You grew in the soil, Reached out to the warmth and comfort of the sun. Only to be cut As a pretty thing in a vase. For a moment of beauty, That most hardly notice.
