Sun Rise
I watched the sun rise
slowly inching light up onto the trees.
A touch of powder blue
etched the sky above the leaves.
Billowing, puffy white clouds
stretched and flowed across it effortlessly.
The slightest of breezes chilled the air
keeping it sharp enough to breathe.
The sound of crickets grows faint
with the birth of each colder day.
In time, a deafening profound silence
will find life here missing from the garden.
The birds will come with cautionary quiet
and scan the sky for hawks.
All things change with the season
yet still remain the same.
The patterns of life flow freely like the tide
racing and foaming in a hurried rush
then becoming quiet and rippling at rest
revealing simple signs.
It lets us know its presence
is here for but a moment then gone.
