Summertime
Seasons change
They come and go
And while I enjoy their differences
The summer is my favourite
This I know
Big yellow sun in
Clear blue skies
Emits its rays
Making lovely warm days
Warm nights too
Beautiful smells
What a delight
It all feels so right
Growing and alive
That is the vibe
Exciting and relaxing
Much less taxing
Children out playing
It is not in they are staying
All their games
So many old names
Rounders and red rum
Kick the can and hide and seek
What fun week after week
Trips and holidays planned
At the sea or inland
Change of pace
Out of the rat race
Lovely days
Go by in a haze
Enjoy every one
Of those wonderful days in the sun
