Summers End

One more summer melts away It's back to school and no more play But holidays are on their way It brings, a certain cheer Maybe there, in school I'll find A pretty girl, I can call mine Though it's cold, our love will shine It's my future, I don't fear Although the leaves are falling fast And summers fun, fades in the past There's one thing, I have to ask Why don't good thing ever last With new teachers and new classes Cool night air, as summer passes Now raking leaves, no cutting grasses I just love this time of year

"I just love this time of year." So do I, Jerry!.... This brought to mind good memories of back to school and not wanting summer vacation to end, but still looking forward to the Fall.... A very nice poem, Jerry! Congratulations on your win!

Nice. How funny to be writing about spring in my garden and reading about winter approaching in yours. Quite the global experience! Daniel

That's exactly the point ED, as long as we're breathing---there's a little paint left on the palette and as long as we can see the light of another day---there will always be a little piece of canvass, that needs covering. Sounds like a poem is in there somewhere, lol. Thanks Ed for your encouraging words

It's fresh and your canvass of life has not been painted yet...Pretty cool :)
