Summer's End
Dark clouds are in the sky today
Winds bring a bit of chill.
First hint of summer's ending is
The storing of the grill.
Vacation time is over,
Schools open up their doors.
Only the old or idle rich
May linger at the shores.
The summer days were lovely,
They were both long and warm.
Before we see their like again
We'll weather winter's storm.
The end of summer sorrows me
But makes me more aware,
God has reasons for the seasons
And I'm glad He lets me share.
