Summers Day
Another summers day
They all came out to play
Skirt a swaying
Bodies glistening
Fertile fields of exuberance
And with every chirpy call
And a shriek shrill
Came a muffled reply
And I say it's Summers day
How did it get so hazy
How did it get so high
I smelt it in the air
I saw it in the mist
Leisurely strolls and lovers trysts
The birds charming the trees
The nectar inviting the bees
As I recline in padded pastures
Feeling the beats of earths drum
In timely rhythms of an accompanying heat
Listening to salient echoes of pattering feet
The fragrant air do I greet
And as the sun smile does recede
An encore from its pursuing friend
Rises a cosmic of the east
Enticing a good nights sleep
First a half smile ,then a glint
But in dutiful pursuit it rises
Then atop in glory, its beauty shun
Nocturne among shadowy masks
To traverse in pursuit of a lost cause
A sojourn in timeless tasks
Homage to mother natures call
A humble servant , you may say
But a hero I may recall
