Summer Rose
Like honeydew her sweetness flows
Caressed by wings of butterflies
A gift from summer to the eyes
Her song of beauty thus composed
With melody of falling rain
As sunshine plays a warm refrain
In the morning dew, she's exposed
Her silken petals glisten so
As sunlight kisses make her glow
So lovely was my summer rose
A work of art, a masterpiece
Her fragrance in the wind released
For now, she lies in sweet repose
Suspended in the autumn's chill
Yet she abides in beauty still
~~
Like honeydew her sweetness flows
Her song of beauty thus composed
In the morning dew she's exposed
So lovely was my summer rose ......
But now she lies in sweet repose ..........
~~
