Summer Rain
The rain is coming down outside,
A chill is in the air;
So we spent the afternoon inside,
Playing cards and solitaire;
The desert air is thriving,
From the raindrops falling down
And the grease woods come alive;
As in the torrent, they drown;
The dogs are getting frisky,
And the horses huddle up;
We all pour a shot of whiskey,
In our lukewarm coffee cups;
We’re sitting on the terrace,
Listening to rain on the tin;
The summer heat has been erased;
And we just can’t help but grin;
We started talking and joking,
But silence soon ensued;
We watch the rain as it's soaking,
Putting us all in a good mood!
