Summer Dreams
Crystal waters and
backyard duets bring
July to an end. Little
faces gleaming with
ice cream kisses prove,
once again, that life
is good. Fetching puppies
bark at fireflies, causing a
weary grandma to smile.
The scents of fresh cut
grass and watermelon
make ninety degree days
seem almost worthwhile.
Queen hibiscus nods her
scarlet crown, beginning
her nightly slumber, while the
day's amber sun
sets to the chirping of
crickets and the evening
winds bring breezy
summer dreams.
