Sudden Insight
I have never wondered more,
In human life I cannot tell,
I see the dark beyond the shore,
A hint of hell,
The weakest sound, the cowards scream galore.
You have often asked before,
How many times I do not know,
Redeeming features by the score,
Our souls must show,
No hope at all – delusion as of yore.
In as much as thus before,
And shall not thus histories endless night,
Stunt our lives with fault restore,
With hopes despite,
And day and night yield one made right once more?

Note: Inspired by the poem 'Sudden Light' by Rossetti- I love the rhythm of his original so I used it to make my more despondent version : )
