Succession

Parades in progress, coaches appear, and Black-plumed horses dance, They raise their heads and velvet blankets Toggle as they prance! The queen appears, the king is dead, The servants gather ‘round, Coronation appurtenances all arranged, How deftly they confound! The scepter raised, the ring is donned, Quiet falls like dew, Amidst the crowds colors blush In very muted hues. Born to this occasion, He stands with glittering crown, His subjects and the common court Are gently kneeling down!
